JAMMU, Jan 6: A deputation of Brahman Sabha Jammu and Kashmir met Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu in connection with forthcoming Basant Panchmi Mela to be organized in Village Mathwar at Bawa Ballo Dev Asthan.
Briefing on this occasion, the president of Sabha Shakti Dutt Sharma apprised the Divisional Commissioner that on Basant Panchmi thousands of people mark their presence at the Asthan, the birth place of Bawa Ballo who sacrificed his life for truth and social equality, and get blessing of Bawa ji.
The deputation requested the Divisional Commissioner to declare the day of Basant Panchmi as holiday in Jammu District to enable people to mark their presence at the Mela.
The deputation comprised of Dr Chander Mauli Raina, chairman; Mahant Rohit Shastri, Master Ram Paul, Suresh Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Sukh Dev Sharma and Deepak Sharma.
