SRINAGAR, Jan 9: Medical-cum-veterinary camp was organised by Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles unit under Operation Sadbhavna at village Shumlaran, Baramulla. A joint team of doctors from Army and civil administration, including lady doctors, nursing assistant and paramedics participated in providing medical assistance to 412 people, including men, women and children. Besides, 387 livestock were also treated at the camp. A team of one veterinary doctor with two assistants was present to treat the livestock. Handouts on various career prospects were distributed and a lecture on drug abuse was also conducted. Various other stalls, including one by HDFC Bank, stalls on fertilizers and stationery were also on display. Official spokesman said that Army has been regularly organising medical camps in the strife torn areas of Baramulla District. The general populace in these areas is greatly benefited by these camps as there is a lack of medical facilities in these areas, he added. He further stated that these camps also help in establishment of a rapport between the people and Army.
