Avinash Kumar storms into top four of junior snooker

KOLKATA, Jan 10: Qualifer Avinash Kumar of Delhi stormed into the top-four of the round robin league in the junior snooker, stunning Ishpreet Chadha in straight sets in the National Billiards & Snooker Championship today.
Having already pocketed the sub-junior snooker and junior billiards title, Chadha started favourite but Avinash, who made into the top four qualifiers without losing a single frame, lived up to the big stage to script a 3-0 win to cause the biggest upset of the meet.
Avinash will now take on Hritik Jain (Madhya Pradesh), S Shrikrishna (Tamil Nadu) and M L Laxman (Karnakata) to decide the title which will be played among them in a round-robin league of best of seven frames each. (PTI)
