*Satish Kumar bags man of the series title

JAMMU, Jan 11: Magnificent batting performance by Ujjwal and KD Singh guided Wave Cricket Club (WCC) to register win over Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) and to lift the title trophy of the Jammu Tawi Premier T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Academy (JKCA), Jammu wing at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College hostel ground, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Wave Cricket Club (WCC) scored splendid 149 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Ujjwal played well, smashed some crispy shots and scored 41 runs in 33 balls with the help of five boundaries and one six, whereas KD Singh made 28 runs in 10 balls including two boundaries and three sixes. Charanjeet also contributed with 27 runs.
For Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) side, Shashi Kumar took 2 wickets in his 4 overs spell by conceiving 26 runs, whereas as Dhruv Mahajan also claimed 2 wickets by giving 28 runs in 2 overs. Amit Sharma claimed 1 wicket by giving 28 runs in just 1 over.
In reply, Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) made 147 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs thus lost the match by just 2 runs. Dhruv Mahajan scored 48 runs with the help of four boundaries and one six, whereas Chamkor Singh and Shashi Kumar made 27 and 17 runs respectively.
For Wave Cricket Club (WCC) side, Parkash Singh scalped 2 wickets, whereas Deepak and KD Singh shared one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Surinder Kumar and Amit Sharma as umpires, whileas the scoreboard was maintained by Sohail Yousuf.
The man of the match award was presented to KD Singh of Wave Cricket Club (WCC), whereas man of the series award was awarded to Satish Kumar. The best batsman of the tournament award was handed over to Ahmed of RCC and Gagan of WCC was adjudged as best bowler of the tournament.
On the valedictory function, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Gandhi Nagar constituency Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Parveen Kapahi and Sanjeev Isher, who were guests of honour. Shashi Pal, Organiser of the tournament along with officials of Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club was also present.
