JAMMU, Jan 12: A local youth hailing from Kathua district today died mysteriously in a Gurgoan-Katra bus.
According to the reports, the deceased identified as Manjit Singh (25) son of Mehtab Singh, a resident of Kathua had boarded the bus from Gurgoan to his home town Kathua. However, when the bus reached Jammu Bus Stand at about 0300 hours, the cleaner of the bus found the deceased youth lying unconscious at one of the seats of the bus. He immediately informed the police.
On getting information, a police team from Bus Stand area reached the spot and shifted the unconscious youth to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead. The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs after conducting post mortem.
Meanwhile, the Bus Stand police has registered a case in this concern and started inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC. The bus bearing registration No HR55U-9440 has been seized by the police while the further investigations are on.
The police said the death of the youth has become a suspense and curtains will be over from it only when the postmortem report comes.
