POONCH, Jan 16: Refugees from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) today held strong protest demonstration against Hurriyat Conference, NC leaders, MLA Er Rashid and other Kashmir based leaders and parties opposing one time settlement and package to the refugees.
A large number of PoJK displaced persons, assisted by Bajrang Dal and Vishav Hindu Parishad leaders & activists assisted by noted refugee leader Rajinder Singh Khajuria came out at main City Chowk in Poonch at around 3 pm and started protest demonstration. They were raising slogans against Hurriyat Conference and separatist leaders Sayed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik, NC leader and former Minister Ali Mohd Sagar, Engineer Rashid and even PDP legislator Naeem Akhtar. They also burnt their effigies.
VHP State secretary Nishu Gupta and Bajrang Dal district president Sourav Sudan besides refugees leaders Rajinder Singh, L C Shastri, Sarabjit Singh Kranti and Paramjit Singh in their address strongly condemned the attitude of Kashmir based political parties and Hurriyat leaders for opposing settlement of refugees. They alleged that these Kashmir centric political parties stood exposed and they are communal. They said it is human issue for which refugees are fighting for the last over 60 years. The opposition by the Kashmiri leaders to the package being prepared by the Central Government for the refugees is surprising. They said the refugees are demanding their right and what is the problem to the Kashmiri leaders.
These leaders alleged that Hurriyat people and even some Kashmir leaders are plundering the Central funds meant for public for the last over six decades. They have become ‘crorepatis’ and raised huge assets. Hapless West Pakistani, PoJK and Chhamb refugees are demanding only their settlement and these people of communal mindset are claiming that it may change the demography of the State. Is this State fiefdom of Hurriyat or NC leaders? Who are they to oppose this. They have been thrown out of power by the people.
The refugee leaders claimed that no power on the earth can deny the citizenship rights to the WPRs and package to the all types of refugees in Jammu region. They appealed the people of Jammu in general and especially refugees to restrict the movement of such leaders within Valley only. They burnt the effigies of Hurriyat and NC leaders and warned them to desist from such remarks otherwise, they would have to face the wrath of refugees in Jammu region.
The refugees would be forced to target them wherever they are seen in the public.
