UDHAMPUR, Jan 17: A pedestrian and a truck driver were killed in separate road mishaps while another person died after he accidentally slipped into a gorge, here since the last evening.
A youth, identified as Bachan Singh, son of Sardar Singh of Karan Nagar Jammu, was knocked to death by an unknown vehicle on the National Highway at Main Bagh, Dhar Road, last night when he was walking on the roadside.
In another road accident, driver of a truck when his vehicle rammed into a tree at village Bralta, near Majalta. The deceased driver was identified as Papu (22), son of Jattu Ram of village Kakri in Majalta.
Meanwhile, a man died when he accidentally slipped into a deep gorge at village Prya in Ramnagar while crossing a narrow path. The deceased, identified as Charan Dass (46), son of Ramu of Prya, had left for work in fields this morning but did not return home till late afternoon. After the family members searched for him, his body was found lying in the gorge.
