NOWSHERA, Jan 17: Senior Congress leader and PCC spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has urged the Govt to provide free ration and financial relief to all deserving flood affected people of Nowshera-Sunderbani area.
Mr Sharma was responding to the complaints by some flood affected deserving people whose homes and crops were damaged but have not been provided relief.
A meeting of Block Congress Committee Nowshera was held under the chairmanship of HL Bakshi, president Block Congress Committee Nowshera where Master Som Nath, working president DCC Rajouri was also present.
Another meeting of Block Congress Committee Sunderbani was held at Sunderbani which was presided over by its president Thakur Shamsher Singh-Sarpanch.
Leaders of Block Congress Committees and prominent workers discussed the problems of people. It was reported that some genuine flood affected people are not getting free ration and financial relief and requested the MLC to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Sharma said that Congress is only unifying force in the country which can take care of all sections in this pluralistic society. He asked the party workers and prominent citizens that he would remain available for the service of people in general and for Nowshera-Sunderbani in particular.
The BCC took pledge to strengthen the party at grass root level and expressed full faith on the policies and programmes of Congress party and its leadership.
