JAMMU, Jan 21: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar registered a thrilling 1-run victory over GDC Paloura in an exciting contest of Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament at Varsity ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, GDC Ramnagar scored a paltry total of 78 runs in 16 overs. Sanjay top scored with 16 runs, while Parveen contributed 15 runs to the total. For GDC Paloura, Surinder and Sahil Sharma took 2 wickets each.
In reply, GDC Paloura managed to scored 77 runs in the stipulated 16 overs, thus lost the match by one run. Varun Dogra (19), Rohit Langeh (18) and Kaushik Gupta (14) were the main scorers. Sanjay, Romal and Tilak claimed one wicket each for GDC Ramnagar.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman and Vijay Dogra as umpires, while Monu Khajuria acted as scorer.
Meanwhile, the second match scheduled for the day was not played due to inclement weather conditions.
