State pensioners hold meet

JAMMU, Jan 22: All J&K State Pensioners Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of its general secretary Madan Lal Abrol in which all the member of the executive body took part.
While speaking, Abrol said that a memorandum was sent to the Chief Secretary highlighting the demands of the association including release of 17 per cent DA, release of pending installment of 6th Pay Commission arrear, enhancement in medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month from Rs 300, additional allowance to pensioner who had completed 80, 85, 90, 95 and above 100 years at 20, 40, 50 and 100 per cent.
He urged the Governor NN Vohra to take personal interest in the issues highlighted by the association.
Abrol also appealed to the Central Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Incharge of Pension Jatinder Singh to intervene in the matter personally.
Among others present were Yash Paul Sanson, Yudhvir Dogra, Mohammad Ayub Khan, Kali Dass, Bhushan Pargal, Harbans Singh, Des Raj, Puran Chand Khajuria, Mulkh Raj Sharma (retd DSP), etc.
