NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lauded the “unparalleled accomplishments” of girl child, saying their role in nation-building was “paramount.” “On National Girl Child Day, I salute the unparalleled accomplishments of the girl child. Their role in nation building is paramount,” the Prime Minister said in a message on the occasion.
He called for ending discrimination against girl child and ensuring that daughters got equal opportunities to shine.
The message by the Prime Minister came two days after he launched the nationwide campaign to raise awareness about discrimination against girl child and ensure equal rights to them in the society.
The campaign launched at Panipat in Haryana on January 22 also sought to educate people about the need to stop female foeticide.
