NEW DELHI : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today filed a charge sheet against a suspected Delhi Police informer Sabir Khan alias Munna charging him with playing a role in implicating a Jammu and Kashmir resident as a Hizbul Mujahideen militant.
The NIA also absolved Kupwara district resident Sayyad Liaqat Shah of all terror charges levelled against him by the Delhi Police Special Cell.
NIA investigations have revealed that the police informer– Sabir, had been living in the Lodhi Colony barracks of the Special Cell in South Delhi for the past eight years. He was allegedly instrumental in planting weapons to implicate Sayyad Liaquat Shah.
Shah was reportedly arrested by the Police on March 20, 2013 from near Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh after he crossed over to India from Nepal.
His arrest had triggered a controversy after the Delhi Police and the J&K Police came out with conflicting versions of his intention. (AGENCIES)
