JAMMU, Jan 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association (JKToWA) has selected teams to participate in the 2nd Beach Senior National Championships for Men and Women (Mix 4+4) being held from January 29 to 30, 2015 at Sagreshawar, Vengurla and 8th Open Senior National Tug-of-War Championship (Men and Women) being held from February 1 to 2, 2015 at Sports Ground of the Barrister Balasaheb Khardekar College, Vengurla in Maharashtra.
The teams were selected by Hardeep Singh Anand, president of the association, Ravinder Singh Sasan, general secretary, Kuldeep Gupta, treasurer, J&K Olympic Association, Jodh Singh Isher, Ajay Peshin and DN Chauhan, under the supervision of J&K Sports Council screening committee members at Green Field Ground, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The selected players for the 2nd Beach Mix 4+4 (Men & Women) Senior National include Gaurav, Sohan Lal, Narinder, Manik, Varsha, Anam, Aqleem, Shaista and Ankee while 2nd Beach Men Team included Parvez, Mir Faisal, Umair, Nowshad, Sajad, Zabeer and Gurpreet Singh.
The team for 8th Open National included Amandeep, Junaid, Waheed, Burhan, Shahbaz, Bilal, Satyajeet, Waris and Arun.
Ajay Kumar and Gurvinder Kaur are accompanying as coaches with the selected teams.
