Science College defeats PG Arts

JAMMU, Jan 28: Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu defeated PG Arts in the ongoing Inter-College Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Varsity ground, here.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Science College scored a total of 150 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sunil top scored with 72 runs with five sixes and five boundaries, while Kanav and Pankaj contributed 26 and 20 runs to the total, respectively. For PG Arts, Rahul bagged 2 wickets, while Vinay and Vishab claimed one wicket each.
In reply, PG Arts managed to score only 150 runs in stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets and thus lost the match by a margin of one run. Gulzar, Vinay scored 34 and 33 runs, respectively while Rahul and Nadeem also chipped in 15 and 13 runs, respectively. For Science College, Pankaj was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 2 important wickets, while Munish, Sunil and Raman also took one wicket each.
Meanwhile, in the 2nd match played between GDC Poonch and MIET Jammu, GDC Poonch got walkover against MIET.
The matches are being officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Vijay Dogra and Vivek Khajuria. The Tournament is being organized under the supervision of Director, Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Prof Dhian Singh Bahu.
