JAMMU, Feb 2: Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, today reviewed the pace of work on the 4-Lane National Highway and discussed issues pertaining to the implementation of NHAI Projects in Jammu region, during a meeting he chaired here.
Chief Secretary received brief on the status of pending land acquisition cases in some stretches of the National Highway and in this regard asked the concerned Deputy Commissioners and NHAI officials to complete the process at the earliest so that work on these left-out stretches of the 4-Lane National Highway are taken up and completed.
Chief Secretary also asked NHAI officials to take up the repair work of the National Highway particularly the Qazigund-Srinagar section of the road which is in a bad shape.
Mr. Khandey also asked NHAI to provide wherever required overhead walkways, underpasses, service roads, drainage facilities, besides protection works along the National Highway.
Issues pertaining to user fee collection at different Toll Plazas along the National Highway were also discussed in the meeting.
Principal Secretary, Finance, B B Vyas, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Tanvir Jehan, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Vinod Koul, Commissioner Excise, Nirmal Sharma, Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban, NHAI officials and other officers were present in the meeting.
