JAMMU, Feb 4: To carry forward the mission of Prime Minister , Narendra Modi in making India clean, senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta today laid foundation stone of Sulabh Shauchalaya complex here at Vivekananda Chowk. He was accompanied by the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Kiran Wattal and Chairman Sulabh International A.K. Singh besides X-Ens Arvind Kumar and Paramjeet Singh.
Endorsing the initiative undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to adopt cleanliness on priority through Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Mr Gupta said that it is imperative that people should contribute collectively in making the country clean of solid waste besides the ills of corruption, crime against women, illiteracy, drugs, etc. He said that Swacch Bharat Abhiyan led by Narendra Modi has an essence and a deeper meaning of making country free of all the negativity and pessimism. Terming the laying of foundation stone of this public conveniences complex as a small step, Rajesh said that realizing Modi Ji’s dream of clean India is a distant dream and this could only be achieved through people’s participation that too with absolute enthusiasm and dedication.
In his address, the JMC Commissioner emphasized that making judicious use of such edifice is the key to improve vicinity as often it is seen that people urinate and even defecate in open making surroundings filthy and unhygienic. He stressed upon the people to utilize the services in a manner that these will cater to their needs for a longer duration. “Misusing and damaging the public property is ultimately the loss of the people”, he asserted.
It is pertinent to mention here that the start of this state of art public utility complex by MLA Rajesh Gupta is second in a row that too in short span of about 40 days.
