DDC Budgam takes stock of Maha Shivratri arrangements

BUDGAM, Feb  5: The District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf, accompanied by S P Budgam, Fayaz Ahmad Lone and other District Officers toured Pandit Colony Sheikhpora today to have an on spot assessment of the problems and grievances the residents are facing on account of availability of basic amenities particularly in respect of drinking water, electricity supply, healthcare and sanitation.
During the visit, various deputations belonging to Pandit community met the District Development Commissioner and apprised him about difficulties and problems they are facing. They raised the issue of supply of relief and restoration components in the aftermath of devastating floods.
District Development Commissioner reiterated that administration is making every effort to mitigate the problems of the people. He asked them to prepare a detailed report of losses they have suffered during devastating floods so that same is forwarded to the concerned quarters for an early redressal and acceptance.
Regarding the arrangements for ensuing festival of Maha Shivratri, the District Development Commissioner said pro-active measures would be taken to ensure availability of all essentials   including Meat and fish during the festivities.
Mir directed all the concerned officers to redress the grievances and problems put forth by the people.
