JAMMU, Feb 5: Two-Day Management Fest ‘YOUTHARVA-2015’ started with lots of vigour and enthusiasm at The Business School, University of Jammu unfolding series of activities wherein a total number of 12 participating business management institutes competed in a highly stimulating and intellectually challenging competitive environment.
Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman and CEO of the J&K Bank, was the chief guest in the inaugural function. While addressing the students of The Business School and the participating teams, he emphasized upon the need for building an organizational climate where each and every employee needs to have a long term vision for not only developing businesses but rather ‘building businesses’.
Earlier, Professor Versha Mehta, Director, The Business School and Convener Fest dwelled upon the need to shift focus of the academic institutions from being teaching centric to ‘learning centric’, so as to create learning environments within the class room situations.
Prof Keshav Sharma, Convener Board of Studies in Business Management and Controller of Examinations, JU, said that such a participation in competitive events is paramount to the wholesome development of the students while Prof B C Sharma, Dean Students Placement, said that the management students should take initiative and utilize such opportunities to showcase their talent and creativity in front of the corporate experts.
Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, JU, also spoke on the while Prof Alka Sharma, Chair Fest, gave a formal vote of thanks. Shwetanshu Gupta and Jatinder Singh conducted the proceedings.
During the function the ‘YOUTHARVA-2015’ newsletter was also released. Later in the day, competitive events like Inquizitive, Aghaaz, Shootout at Fest, Sherlock Games and Bull or Bear, Rangmanch were organized.
