JAMMU, Feb 6: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Shantmanu today reviewed the functioning of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CAPD) and took stock of distribution and availability of essential commodities especially supply of kerosene and LPG in Jammu division particularly in snow hit areas.
Director CAPD, G. S. Chib, Sr. Depot Manager, IOC S. B. Singh, Senior Manager M. S. Choudhary, Deputy Manager IOC Anil Kumar and representatives of other Oil Companies were present in the meeting.
Director CAPD apprised the Divisional Commissioner of the status of Kerosene, LPG, food grain, other essential commodities supply in various parts of Jammu division saying that sufficient stock is available with the department. He also informed about the progress of PAHAL scheme in different parts of the region. The scheme was launched for the consumers of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Shantmanu directed the CAPD for timely and proper distribution of ration especially LPG supply among the people. He asked the Director to effectively monitor the public distribution mechanism in the districts especially snow hit and hilly areas and ensure that the essential commodities reaches to the people well in time.
Earlier, Divisional Commissioner also interacted with representatives of J&K Oil Tankers Owners Association and officers from Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation.
The association apprised the Divisional Commissioner about their demands mainly related to extension of tender date on same rates, terms and conditions as the State badly affected due to havoc and floods last year.
Shantmanu assured them that their demands would be raised at appropriate forum.
