PRP demands early release of ration for January

SRINAGAR, Feb 6: A delegation of Peoples Republican Party (PRP) called on CAPD authorities at Ganderbal today and expressed their resentment for non disbursement of ration of January among the consumers till date.
The delegation which was led by senior PRP leader Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani demanded that the ration of January be released immediately as the people are facing hardships for the same. He said that the condition is worst in flood affected areas of the district where the ration was also not disbursed till date.
Mir demanded that ration be also given on the basis of 2011 census and not on 2001 census as there is a tremendous increase in the population since last 14 years.
He said the Government should ascertain why the ration of January was not distributed among consumers till date. Mir also made an appeal to State Governor N N Vohra in this regard.
Meanwhile, PRP held its general meeting here under the leadership of Dr Farooq Ahmed in which prevailing political situation was discussed. The meeting resolved to continue its struggle for the welfare of the people of the State and to highlight their problems like power, water, ration, rising prices and unemployment.
