Abid Nabi guides JKP XI to enter 5th Police Martyrs semis

KATHUA, Feb 7: The 3rd and 4th quarterfinal matches of 5th Police Martyr Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship were played at Sports Stadium, here today.
The 3rd quarterffinal match of the Championship was played between J&K Police XI and Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana and the 4th quarterfinal was played between Saabi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur and Amritsar Sports Club Amritsar.
Earlier, J&K Police XI decided to bat first and scored 133 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets.  Abid Nabi was the top scorer with 45 runs off 39 balls, while Aditya Jain emerged top scorer with 29 runs off 21 balls for Sandhu Club.
In reply, the Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana scored 122 in 20 overs, thus J&K Police XI won the match by 11 runs. Abid Nabi of J&K Police XI who scored 45 runs and took 3 wickets was declared man of the match and was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 2100 and a trophy.
In the 4th quarterfinal match, the toss was won by Saabi Cricket Club Hoshiyarpur who chose to field first. Amritsar Sports Club Amritsar scored 121 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets.  Rohan scored 41 runs in 37 balls and Abhishek who scored 22 runs in 15 balls and emerged the top scorers.
In reply, Saabi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur chased the target in 17.2 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won by 5 wickets. Bhupi who scored 46 runs in 44 balls (not out) and Naam Dev who scored 27 runs in 7 balls (not out) were the top scorers. Naam Dev (27) and 3 wickets was declared man of the match and was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 2100 and a trophy.
