Another J&K Boxer enters quarterfinal stage

JAMMU, Feb 9: After Anju Bala, Dheeraj and Ashish Jasrotia, another J&K boxer Pardeep Sharma registered berth in the quarterfinal round of the Boxing event during the ongoing 35th National Games at Kerala.
J&K Boxer Pardeep Sharma smashed Nazar Hussain by 40-19 points in 49 kg weight category and sailed into the quarterfinal round.
Meanwhile, J&K Boxer Khalida Bano lost to Parale Joseph of Kerala by 17-14 points in the pre-quarterfinal stage.
Earlier, in 60 kg (girls), Anju Bala of J&K smashed Arensangla of Nagaland and registered berth in quarterfinal round.
In 60 kg (boys), Dheeraj of J&K beat Rajnish Kumar Rana of Bihar and in 69 kg category, Ashish Jasrotia registered win over Vikas Sunnywal of Tripura. Both Dheeraj and Ashish Jasrotia qualified for the quarterfinal round.
The J&K Boxing team is being led by Senior Boxing Coach, J&K State Sports Council Anil Kumar Wadhera and general secretary, Boxing Association Dr Nirmolak Singh.
