Annual Sports Meet inaugurated at CUJ

JAMMU, Feb 10: Annual Sports Meet of the Central University Jammu (CUJ) began at the Temporary Academic Block of Varsity, here today.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Devanand inaugurated the event and encouraged students to actively participate in various games and other co-curricular activities. The Department of Economics lifted the final trophy of volleyball competition by beating the Department of MBA, HRM in a close contest.
In women’s category, Shot put, Himmat Sharma and Samiksha Sanotra of Educational Studies and Palvinder Kour of English Department bagged first, second and third positions respectively, while, in men’s category, Deepak Kumar and Tewari Avinash Kumar of Mathematics Department and Ashfaq Ahmed Bhat of Educational Studies clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof NR Sharma, Deans of other Schools, Faculty Members and Students were present during various events.
Incharge of the Sports Meet, Dr Pramod said that the three days sports event would conclude on February 12, 2015.
