JAMMU, Feb 11: The 2nd J&K State Sambo Championship, organized under the auspices of J&K Sambo Association concluded at Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School Patoli, here today.
Dr Nirmal Singh, MLA Billawar was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion. Vickey Jamwal was the guest of honour, while Ravinder Gupta, MD Shastri Memorial HSS, Fazal Ahmed, Bal Krishan Kharu, Parminder Singh Manhas, Sukhvinder Singh, Rohit Sadhotra and Rajiv Sharma were present on the occasion.
The gold medal winners in different weight categories included Abid (Kashmir), Shreesh Mansotra (Jammu), Feroz Ali (Kashmir), Numan (Jammu) and Tariq (Kashmir).
Jammu Division won the overall Championship, while Kashmir Division remained runners-up.
In girls section, Kathua eves emerged winners and Jammu runners-up.
Parshikha Kotwal and Shreesh Mansotra were adjudged best players in the women’s and men’s categories respectively.
The bouts were officiated by Akhil Badkuliya, Kawaljeet Singh, Komal Gupta and Rahil Shafi.
