Jammu, Feb 12: Demanding release of pending SSA salary, members of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum today held day long protest demonstrations at all the district head quarters across the State.
The protesting ReT teachers lamented that even the salary of ReT 3rd teachers has also not been released for the last 4 months while KGBV Teachers are without salary for the last two years and pay arrears of regularized education volunteers (EVS) are pending for the last one year.
At Jammu, main protest was held in front of the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu where a large number of ReT teachers assembled under the chairmanship of provincial president Rajesh Singh Jamwal and the State vice president Younis Rahi. Demanding immediate release of SSA salary, they were shouting slogans in support of their demands. Later a memorandum of demands was submitted to the Governor through Divisional Commissioner.
At Udhampur, ReT teachers held protest demonstration under the leadership of State president Vinod Sharma and district president Lekh Raj Parihar. They assembled at Mini Stadium and after passing through Gole Market and Mukherjee Bazar, marched towards the DC Office. The protesting ReT teachers also blocked traffic on the Dhar Road, in front of DC office for some time.
Vinod Sharma, while addressing the protesters, threatened to gherao State Assembly if the salaries are not released at the earliest. Later a memorandum of demands was submitted to the Governor through the Deputy Commissioner.
At Poonch ReT Teachers Forum members held protest demonstration under the leadership of State general secretary Najam Jafri and senior vice president Sayed Shah Nawaz Bukhari while in Doda, district president Sajad Malik and general secretary Wahid Wani led the protest march from CEO office to D C office.
District president Gulzabir Daing and provincial senior vice president Shahnwaz Hussain led the protest demonstration of ReT Teachers from Dak Banglow Ramban to DC office amidst raising of slogans against the callous approach of the Government to make them suffer for want of SSA salary.
At Rajouri, protest demonstration was led by State chief spokesperson Naresh Sharma and district president Manzoor Khan while in Kathua, district president Mahesh Kumar and senior leader Pankaj Verma led the protest demonstration.
Similarly at Reasi and Kishtwar, the protest demonstrations were led Balwan Singh and Tahir Masood, respectively.
Similar protests were held at other district headquarters of the State.
