JAMMU, Feb 15: Outplaying Singh Hockey Club Fareed Nagar by two goals to nil in the summit clash, Deshmesh Hockey Club lifted the title trophy of the Hockey Tournament, organized by Jammu Police underCivic Action Programme (CAP)  at Simbal Camp, here.
The Tournament  concluded today in presence of galaxy of dignitaries, respectable persons of the area, Sarpanches, Panches, sports lovers, youth clubs and families of martyrs.
Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while  Mukesh Sharma 4th Dogra;  SK Punia Lt. Col. 4th Dogra Regiment; Lt. Col. P. Ghatraj 2IC 12 Kamao;  Rajinder Singh, treasurer Hockey India; general secretary Hockey J&K, Rumal Singh and  Manjeet Singh Reen, member Hockey India were also present on the occasion.
Agamdeep Singh from Singh Hockey Club, Fareed Nagar was adjudged man of the  Tournament for his splendid display throughout the event.
Satveer Singh and Iqbal Singh were the officials of the Tournamen, while Jagjeet Singh and Charanjeet Singh were the technical officers.
Trophies, medals, track-suit, sports dresses and certificates were distributed among the players and the supporting staff.
Deliberating on the aim and the objective of Civic Action Programme undertaken by J&K Police, S. Randheer Singh, SP Hqrs-Jammu maintained that the programme comprises several schemes for the promotion of youths in sports & cultural arena.
The Public of the area was very appreciative of the role of J&K Police in the area and thanked the Police department for organizing these tournaments for bridging the gap between the Public and Police and for providing youth opportunity to showcase their talent.
It is pertinent to mention here that the CAP activities in this area are undertaken under the directions of PHQ, ZPHQ Jammu, RPHQ Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, SP Hqrs. Jammu S.Randheer Singh, SDPO R.S.Pura S. Devinder Singh and SHO P/S Miran Sahib Javed Iqbal.
