Invitational Archery championship concludes

JAMMU, Feb 21: The 1st Invitational Archery championship under Mini, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior categories, organized by J&K Archery Association under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, concluded here at Mini Stadium Parade Ground.
Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, was the chief guest on the closing ceremony.
Deputy Commissioner, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, who is president J&K Archery Association, was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma complemented the organizers for conducting Archery Invitational championship which would add new dimensions to sports profile of the State. He said that Archery is a part of our culture and J&K has ample potential in Archery which needs to be exploited to the optimum.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that every effort is being made to put in place latest State of Art sports infrastructure to provide vibrant platform to the enthusiastic youth.
The chief guest felicitated the winners and runner up players with the medals and trophies. Besides, mementoes were presented to distinguished guests.
Cultural items by school children were presented on the occasion.
Director School Education Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, General Secretary J&K Olympic Association Ashutosh Sharma, Chief Sports Officer, Abdul Qayum, Incharge Culture Wing, Chief Education Office Jammu, Akram Ali, ABM SBI, Rajesh Anand, Sachin Mahajan (HDFC) Bank senior officers from Youth Services and Sports besides students, parents, large number of sports persons and prominent citizens graced the occasion.
In Mini Category 20 Mt (Boys) Pranjal clinched Gold Medal, Sardul-and Dharamdev bagged silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Mini Category 20 Mt (Girls) Arya got Gold, Shreya, Silver and Muskan bagged bronze medal.
In  Sub-Junior Category 30 Mt (Boys) Devansh clinched Gold Rigdev and Akilesh got Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Sub-Junior Category 30 Mt (Girls) Taniya, Asma, and Sristhi, bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Junior Category 40 Mt (Boys) Aarsh clinched Gold, Lovely got Silver and Devansh got Bronze medal.
In Junior Category 40 Mt (Girls) Jaishree, Deepa and Shehnaz, got Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
While in Senior Category 50 Mt (Boys) Basumataray bagged Gold, Mahaveer Patil, Silver and Shivam got Bronze medal.
While in Senior Category 50 Mt (Girls) Simi Sharma, Rita Katel and Mehanaz got Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
