HNCC drubs Star Club by 30 runs

JAMMU, Feb 22: Hind National Cricket Club (HNCC) defeated Star Cricket Club Kathua by a margin of 30 runs to advance in the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Mandal cricket ground, here today.
Winning the toss and batting first, HNCC scored a fighting total of 152 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Puneet played a brilliant innings of 52 runs off 46 balls, studded with 8 fours and one six, while Shiva, Ashish and Sabi contributed with 22, 21 and 16 runs respectively. For Star Club, Nitin took 2 wickets, while Anil Choudhary, Shiva and Bawa claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Star Club was bundled out for 122 runs in 19.5 overs, thus lost the match by 30 runs. Ram Singh top scored with 40 runs, while Anil Choudhary contributed 33 runs to the total. Nitin and Arun chipped in with 18 runs each. Mithun captured 3 wickets by conceding 25 runs in 4 overs, while Karan and Puneet bagged 2 wickets each and Mashqoor claimed 1.
