Khalsa XI, Sarveshwar Club script victories

JAMMU, Feb 24: Khalsa XI and Sarveshwar Cricket Club registered convincing wins over their rivals in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match played today, Sarveshwar Cricket Club defeated Strikers XI by 5 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, Strikers XI scored 131 runs in 20 overs. Sunil Manhas and Sachin Sudan contributed 46 and 35 runs to the total respectively. Amit Rathi also chipped in with 18 runs. Kaka, Pardeep, Ishan and Narotam claimed one wicket each for Sarveshwar Club.
In reply, Sarveshwar Club reached the target easily by losing 5 wickets to win the match by 5 wickets. Chander scored 51 runs, while Irshad contributed 44 runs to the total. Sahil, Sachin and  Parshant shared one wicket each. Chander was declared man of the match.
In another match, Khalsa Club defeated Chowadi XI by 9 runs in a rain hit match.
Chowadi XI sored 128 runs in 20 overs, with Shazad and Aftab scoring 37 and 33 runs to the total respectively. Dutta was the pick of the bowlers for Khalsa Club, claiming 4 important wickets.
Khalsa Club was 60 runs in 10 overs, when the rain interrupted the play, which forced the organizers to decide the match via net run rate in first 6 overs as per the prescribed runs for the Tournament,  wherein Khalsa Club prevailed over Chowadi XI by 9 runs. Dutta was adjudged man of the match for superb bowling display.
