Ajit Club faces Zorawar Club in Sr Hockey summit clash

JAMMU, Feb 25: Ajit Club Gole Gujral will take on Zorawar Hockey Club Satwari in the finals of the Senior Hockey Tournament, while Young Star Simbal Camp will lock horns with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Club in the Sub Junior Hockey title clash at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first semifinal of the Sub Junior Hockey Tournament, Young Star Simbal Camp defeated MBS Simbal Camp by three goals to nil (3-0). Ramandeep Singh netted 2 goals in 12th and 44 minute respectively, while Harsh Chaudhary pelted a superb goal in the 37th minute of the match.
In another semifinal, MRS Club outplayed Guru Nanak Nagar Club by two goals to one (2-1) in a close contest. For MRS Club, the first goal was scored by Ramandeep Singh in 12th minute. However, Vikeam Singh scored an equalizer for GNNHC in the 15th minute. MRS players came back strongly and succeeded to score an easy goal in 31st minute through Prabjot Singh to win the match finally by (2-1).
The match was officiated by Amarjit Singh, Karanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Charanjit Singh, Jagjeet Singh and G S Bakshi.
Meanwhile, in Senior Hockey, Ajit Club Gole Gujral drubbed Hiranagar Hockey Club by three goals to two (3-2) in the first semifinal. For Ajit Club, Balbir Singh scored the first goal in 3rd minute, while Agandeep Singh pelted 2 goals in 9th and 38th minutes. Abhinandan Singh netted 2 goals for Hiranagar Club in 9th and 38th minute.
In the second semifinal, Zorawar Club Satwari defeated MBS Simbal Camp by nine goals to eight (9-8) via tie-breaker. Earlier, the match ended in a draw in the stipulated time, with both the teams scoring three goals each.
