KATHUA, Feb 26: Career Counseling Cell of Govt. Degree College for Women Kathua organized Intra-College Symposium on the topic “Be Eco Friendly to save the Environment” in collaboration with ASHA (NGO), here today.
MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof Rakesh Singh , Prof Yash Paul and Prof Shiv Kumar acted as jury members.
Dr Janak Singh, Principal, GDC for Women Kathua in his welcome address highlighted the importance of environment for human beings and other animals living on earth. MLA Kathua in his address stressed upon the students for adopting eco friendly ways and means to save environment.
On this occasion, Mr Jasrotia and Dr Janak distributed scholarship cheques to economically weaker students of the College.
Megha, Simran and Preeti Surmal were adjudged Ist, 2nd and 3rd respectively by the jury members, while Khushboo Pathania and Pallavi won the consolation prizes.
The plantation drive was organized on the occasion.
