JAMMU, Feb 28: Outplaying their rivals convincingly, Rommy Sports Club and Udhampur Cricket Club advanced into the next round of the ongoing KC Sports Club Cricket Tournament, being organized and sponsored by KCSC at KC School ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, batting first, Rommy Sports Club scored a modest total of 127 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Mickey top scored with 32 runs off 25 balls, while Narinder contributed with 26 runs off 24 balls. For Friends Club, Bakshi took 3 wickets, while Arvind claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Friends Cricket Club failed to chase the target and lost the match. Mohd Asif scored 40 runs off 33 balls and Sameer contributed with 31 runs off 40 balls. Narinder Singh was declared as man of the match.
The second match was played between OCC and Udhampur Cricket Club, in which latter emerged winner.
Batting first, OCC scored 195 runs in 18 overs. Raju top scored with 50 runs off 31 balls, while Vineet Raina contributed 83 runs off 36 balls. For Udhampur Club, Naresh and Sumit took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Udhampur Cricket Club chased the huge target easily and won the match. Binny scored 50 runs off 29 balls and Shubu Kapoor contributed with 50 runs off 26 balls. Vineet Raina Singh was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Ranjeet Singh, Dilawar Singh, Shanker and Suresh.
