IAF reaches to people through cycle rally

JAMMU, Feb 28: To spread the awareness of the Yeoman’s service provided by the Indian Air Force to the people of J&K during massive floods, a cycle rally was organized by the Indian Air Force (IAF), which culminated at Air Force Station, here today.
The rally led by Air Cmde Ashutosh Lal Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Force Station Jammu with his team of 25 members had started from Shashsitar (Poonch) on February 26, 2015 and finally reached Jammu today.
The team also consisted Deepanjali Bhakshi president AFFWA (Local), Chief Administrative Officer Group Captain JB Rane, few officers and air warriors accompanied the AOC during the rally.
The rally was routed through Bimber Gali, Rajouri, Kalakot, Shylarchetta, Sunderbani and Akhnoor covering a distance of around 300 kilometers in three days.
The rally team successfully encountered and handled the steep climbs and slopes of the Pir Panjal and Kalidhar mountain ranges and other challenging hurdles.
The mission of the rally is to reach out to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. During the rally the team had conducted education and motivation lectures, awareness programmes and interaction sessions with students of Army Good will public school Rajouri, Government Higher Secondary School Kalakot.
During the rally, special emphasis was given to highlight the outstanding services lend by the Air Force during the recent flood relief in “Operation Megh Rahat”.
