JAMMU, Feb 28: Gutsy middle-order batsman and off-spinner, Parveen Singh’s all-round show, coupled with Ahmer’s gritty fifty and Sourav Chopra’s superb bowling display, helped Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) to register a big win over Singh Cricket Club (SCC) by 8 wickets in the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Mandal ground, here today.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, SCC scored a paltry total of 11 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing all the wickets. Gagan Singh was the top scorer with 25 runs off 29 balls, while Sunny and Sukhvir Singh contributed 19 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For RCC Srinagar, medium pacer, Sourav Chopra was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 19 runs in his 4 overs, while left-arm spinner Dilbagh Singh and right-arm off-spinner Parveen Singh bagged 2 wickets each by giving away 16 and 29 runs to the total respectively.
In reply, RCC chased the target easily in 17 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Ahmer scored brilliant 57 runs off 47 balls, studded with 8 fours and one six, while Parveen Singh contributed unbeaten 32 runs off 34 balls, with the help of 5 delectable boundaries. Manish Dogra contributed with 7 runs off 7 balls. Wasim took 2 wickets for SCC.
