RCC Srinagar outplays Sunderbani Club in rain-hit match

JAMMU, Mar 1: Rainawari Cricket Club defeated Sunderbani Cricket Club by 15 runs in a rain-hit match of  the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, RCC Srinagar scored a good total of 167 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Akash played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 56 runs off 28 balls, while Parveen Singh and Satish contributed 39 and unbeaten 32 runs to the total respectively. For Sunderbani Cricket Club, Abhinandan took 2 wickets, while Showket and Mikki claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Sunderbani Club was struggling at 57/6 in 9.5 overs, when the rain interrupted play. Then the match was decided on the basis of better run rate in the first 6 overs, wherein RCC was declared winner. RCC had scored 53 runs in the first 6 overs, while Sunderbani Club scored 36 runs in 6 overs, to make RCC win by 15 runs. Jonny was the top scorer for Sunderbani Club, who scored 15 runs, while Vicky and Mikki contributed 11 runs each to the total. For RCC, Satish was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Sourav and skipper Kuldeep claimed one wicket each. Satish of RCC was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant all-round display.
The match was officiated by Anil Kumar and Rajinder Singh as umpires, while Rahul acted as the scorer.
