JKP XI registers win, enters semifinal

JAMMU, Mar 1: JKP Cricket XI registered win against the Jammu Tawi Cricket Club in the first quarterfinal match and entered in the semifinal round in the Jammu City T20 Cricket Cup being organised by Jammu Police.
Batting first, JKP scored 151 runs for the loss of three wickets. Shashi was top scorer with 62 runs in 59 balls, whereas skipper Rajesh gill made 34 runs in 43 balls and Jatin contributed with 17 runs.
For Jammu Tawi Club side, Rahul, Surinder and Kamal shared one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Tawi Club failed to chase the target and was bundled out at 77 runs. Varinder, Kamal and Amarjeet made 24, 18 and 17 runs respectively.
For JKP XI side, Shashi and Sidharth took 2 wickets each, while Rajesh Gill, Vishwajeet and Vishal shared one wicket each.
Shashi Kumar of JKP XI was declared as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vinod, Sandeep and Nitu Khokher.
Two more matches were scheduled to be held today but were cancelled due to rain and wet condition on the venue and the same shall be conducted when weather improves.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of SDPO City Perbjeet Singh Parihar under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police with the objective to give right direction to the youths of the State so that they may not derail from the main stream.
