Govt sanctions Rs 60 lakh for creation of 12 more power sub- stations

JAMMU, Mar 3: Government has sanctioned Rs.60 lakh for creation of 12 more power sub-stations in various areas of the Rafiabad Constituency to further improve the power system.
This was revealed during a meeting between MLA, Rafiabad and Principal Secretary Planning and Development, B. R. Sharma at Civil Secretariat, here today. The places where these new power sub- stations are being created during the current fiscal include Chnum, Bakhipora, Machipora, Sain Rafiabad, Charigund, Chatloora, Yarbug, Marazigund, Kangroosa and Soin Sadnar. The augmentation of sub – station from 63KVA to 250 KVA at Waripora and shifting cum- augmentation of sub- station from 50 KVA to 63 KVA at Hachipora and augmentation of 25 KVA to 63 KVA transformer at Mandina will also be undertaken to further improve power system in these areas.
Yawar Mir apprised Mr Sharma about the need to improve power supply facilities in remote and backward areas of the Rafiabad Constituency and urged to release more funds for this purpose.
Meanwhile, Mr Mir asked concerned officers of the district administration, Baramulla to redouble their efforts to clear snow from all roads immediately so that people may not face hardships. He asked engineers of the R&B Department to press into services additional men and machinery for snow clearance on war footing basis. He asked the officers of CA&PD to ensure availability of ration especially in hilly and Kandi areas of the constituency.
