SAMBA, Mar 4: Samba Police organized a grand prize distribution function of recently organized tournaments at Keli Mandi ground, here today.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua was the chief guest on the occasion.
DIG Jammu alongwith Joginder Singh, SSP Samba gave away the prizes/trophies to the winners and runners up teams.
DIG Jammu while speaking on the occasion said that the prize distribution function has been organized of the just concluded Badminton, Kabaddi, Cricket and Volley Ball tournaments held in district Samba and motive behind organizing such programmes by the police is to channelize the energy of youth towards right direction as well as sharpen their talent to keep them mentally and physically fit and also to keep them away from drug evils.
Warrior Cricket Club Vijaypur won Cricket competition whereas Hum Cricket Club Samba emerged runners-up. The Volleyball competition was won by Vijaypur team and Chadhwal team remained runners-up.
Badminton competition was won by Friends Badminton Club, Samba and Police team including Inspector Ravinder Parihar SHO P/S Samba and SI Rajeshwar Singh SHO P/S Vijaypur remained runners-up.
Cricket kit, trophies and uniforms were distributed among the winners of cricket competition, while trophies and sports uniforms were distributed among winning teams of other tournaments.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Faisal Qureshi, Additional SP Samba, Mangal Dev, Chief Education Officer Samba, Subash Kumar, District Sports Officer Samba and Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kaili Mandi Samba.
