AJHLA refutes charges of overcharging by hoteliers

JAMMU, Mar 4: All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) has dismissed the unholy and false campaign launched by some vested interest against hoteliers alleging overcharging of room-rent.
In a handout issued here, Inderjeet Khajuria, president, AJHLA, said that since times immemorial the passengers remain stranded at Jammu and Srinagar, when the national highway is closed to traffic. “As a matter of routine under such circumstances passengers cause hue and cry for facilities like food and airlifting and certain vested interest make hay to cry for exorbitant rates charging by hoteliers, which are baseless and unfounded”, he added.
Khajuria said that these days hotel occupancy is at lowest ebb and every hotel has displayed tariff rates at their counters and the blame for charging exorbitant rates is false and fabricated.
He advised passengers to personally meet or inform the Hotel’s Association in case of overcharge by any hotelier in Jammu for redressal of their grievances.
“The Jammu Hoteliers have always been helpful to the stranded passengers and at times they have extended their best possible help to the needy and there is no chance of overcharge from the stranded passengers”, he maintained.
