SEOUL, Mar 12: The Bank of Korea’s board was not unanimous in its decision on Thursday to cut its monetary policy rate to a record-low 1.75 percent, Governor Lee Ju-yeol said at a news conference.
Two members had dissented to the rate cut and voted to keep rates unchanged.
Most economists polled by Reuters had expected no rate change at this meeting, though many had still predicted a cut in coming months if the country’s economic recovery remained sluggish. (AGENCIES)
