MUMBAI:
Aamir Khan, who turns 50 tomorrow, started his celebrations early by cutting a cake with mediapersons today.
The actor, sporting a beefed up look for his next film ‘Dangal’, said despite hitting the milestone number age-wise, he still feels like he is in his early 20s.
Aamir said he felt “privileged and fortunate” to have been a part of the industry.
“I have always worked from my heart and very few people get this opportunity. I feel grateful. I want to thank all the writers and directors with whom I have worked and it is their conviction that I have reached here,” he said.
Incidentally, Shah Rukh and Salman also share the birth year of 1965 with Aamir and the actor joked that their combined age hovers between 18 to 20.
“We all are turning 50 in the same year but we are not more than 18-20 years. And in three years we will turn 25,” he said.
Aamir, who feels shy about celebrating his birthday, attributed his success to a combination of hard work and luck. “I have learnt a lot from my mistakes and failures. Failures have taught me what to do and what not to do,” he said.
The actor has piled on 22 kilos for ‘Dangal’, which will go to floor in September.
Talking about the great physical transformation that he undergoes for his films, Aamir said it is always difficult to go on that journey. (AGENCIES)
