New Challengers crushes RCC Srinagar by 8 wkts

JAMMU, Mar 13: Riding on a splendid knock of unbeaten 49 runs by First-Class cricketer Ian Dev Singh and superb bowling display by speedster Sahil Sharma, coupled with good contributions from Sahil Bhalwal and Paras Sharma, New Challengers Cricket Club thrashed Rainawari Cricket Club in an easy contest by 8 wickets in the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Mandal Cricket ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, RCC bundled out for a paltry total of 106 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rimple and Jatin scored 24 runs each, while Parveen Singh contributed 20 runs to the total. Skipper Kuldip Kumar chipped in with 18 runs.
Sahil Sharma was the pick of the bowlers from New Challengers Club who took 3 important wickets by giving away 26 runs in his 4 overs, while Ramdayal, Sahil Bhalwal and Soumay Jain claimed one wicket each.
In reply, New Challengers Club chased the target easily in 14 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Ian played a brilliant innings of 49 runs off 31 balls, studded with 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Sahil Bhalwal contributed 29 runs off 22 balls including 3 boundaries and one maximum. Paras Sharma scored quick-fire unbeaten 22 runs off just 6 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours. For RCC Srinagar, Aman and Sourav Chopra claimed one wicket each.
