JAMMU, Mar 14: Warning those elements of dire consequences who are working against the coalition Government within the administration, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today announced that Government will take action against them.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here this morning, Dr Singh accused these elements of hatching conspiracies to destabilize the PDP-BJP Government.
He alleged that “some elements” within the administration are trying to destabilize the coalition Government and “we will take action against them’’.
He said “a major attempt with regard to State Flag issue was made to destabilise the Government which will not be allowed. A statement was issued in the media without the approval of State Government regarding the State Flag to create a controversy, he added.
He said Government has ordered an inquiry and “we will take action against the guilty as no one will be allowed to work against the interests of the people.”
Asked if the Government would punish those responsible, Singh said “definitely, action would be taken. We have already said yesterday.”
He further said that “we have just entered into the Government. The way the mandate has been given by the people, and the Government that has been formed, we get information from press and media about the conspiracies.”
The Deputy CM termed the PDP-BJP alliance as a beginning of a new chapter and a new experiment.
“We should forget the past. People are deprived of their rights for last 67 years. There is new environment and new vision and ideology. We are honestly working for betterment of J&K and the country, we have entered into the alliance,” he said.
Replying to a question about the resolution by Independent MLA Engineer Rashid on return of mortal remains of Afzal Guru, Singh said the Government will not accept any unconstitutional matter.
“When I talk of the State Government, I talk about all the coalition partners. BJP will play its role. Others will also perform their role, we hope so,” he added.
On the issue of return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, the Deputy CM said “it is the commitment of the State Government to ensure return of KPs back to Valley. I appeal the community to provide full cooperation to the Government”.
On setting up of Kashmiri Temple and Shrines Bill, Singh said “We are very serious on Temple Bill. We will sit with them and work — how we will be able to iron out those circumstances, and in new atmosphere and in Government, we will do better.”
Dr Singh said the new Government is fully aware of the Pandits problems and it will try its best to mitigate them.
He said the coalition Government will pay full attention in promotion of tourism in the State as a whole and it will be our priority to uplift the tourist resorts of Jammu region as well.
