JAMMU, Mar 16: At a joint meeting of Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar and Purmandal/Uttaveni Shrines Development Committee held in Mandir complex, arrangements were finalized for 18th Holy Chhari Yatra on Chetar Choudashia falling on March 19.
The meeting was chaired by GS Charak, former Minister and president of the Trust.
The annual Chhari Yatra from Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir to historic Shiv Temple, Parmandal is being taken out for the last 17 years with great religious fervour and enthusiasm which depicts the Dogra cultural heritage.
The Shobha Yatra of Chhari Mubarak will commence from Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Parade Ground Jammu at 8 am on March 19 and after offering prayers at Shri Raghunath temple the holy mace will reach Shri Lakshami Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar at 8:30 am where Chhari Poojan will be performed.
A large number of devotees will join the puja at the Mandir complex and the holy mace will further proceed to Mahadev Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Shiv Mandir Trikuta Nagar, Shiv Mandir Greater Kailash and Nursingh Dev Mandir Birpur and from there it will be taken to the historic Purmandal Shrines.
People from all walks of life will accord rousing reception to the holy Chhari enroute.
During the course of deliberations, some problems came to the notice of the Committee which pertained to poor condition of the roads and transportation facilities for the devotees, sanitation near the Shrines and in the Holy Devika. The members urged the Government to immediately appoint some Nodal Officer as per past practice to take care of all the necessary arrangements. They also appealed the Dharamarth Trust authorities to direct their staff and make all the necessary arrangements in and around the Shrines.
Among others who expressed their views on the occasion were SC Rekhi, general secretary, KB Jandial, trustee and Deepak Gupta, treasurer.
