Bukhari asks farmers to take interest in floriculture

Jammu, Mar 18: Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, Garden and Parks, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has urged the farming community to take full benefits of Centrally sponsored schemes for promotion of Commercial Floriculture in J&K State.
Speaking during an inauguration of State-cum-District Level Event-Conference and exhibition on Floriculture here, the Minister called upon the farmers to adopt protected cultivation and micro irrigation for the purpose. Bukhari also laid stress on promotion of flower bulb and seed production in the State.
The event was organized by the Directorate of Floriculture. The  Minister also went around various stalls established by various allied departments and other private sector companies and interacted with the entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs also showcased the agriculture based products on the occasion.
Commissioner/Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Asgar Samoon also spoke on the occasion, the Director Floriculture Jammu, K.K. Sharma and S Tajinder Singh, President Flower Grower Association were also present and spoke on the occasion. Dr S.S.
