MENDHAR, Mar 18: A full grown leopard killed at least 20 goats at village Balnoi in Mendhar tehsil of district Poonch last night.
Reports said that a leopard which has created terror in this village, near the LoC for the last three weeks, entered into the cattle shed of one Zakir Hussain, son of Jamal Din at Balnoi last mid night and killed his 20goats. Some animals were rendered injured by this wild beast.
The villager raised alarm and also lit fire. The leopard then escaped to the nearby forest. He reported the matter to concerned police and the Wild Life officials in the morning. The villagers alleged that despite several requests to the Wild Life staff, this leopard could not be neutralized. It has created terror in this entire belt and people do not move out during night hours.
