Paras Sharma takes New Challengers to semis in Holi Cup

JAMMU, Mar 25: Promising Paras Sharma’s all-round show helped New Challengers Club defeat Khalsa Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 9 runs to qualify for the semifinals in the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Mandal Cricket ground, here today.
Batting first, New Challengers Club scored a decent total of 163 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. Paras Sharma played a brilliant innings of 55 runs off 27 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and 3 sixes, while Bansi Lal and Manjeet Singh contributed 21 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Khalsa Club, Kallu and Vicky bagged 2 wickets each, while Nitan claimed one wicket each.
Khalsa Club, in reply, managed to score 154 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 9 runs. Nitan was the top scorer with 53 runs, while Rommy and Vicky contributed with 39 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For New Challengers Club, Paras Sharma and Soumay Jain took 2 wickets each, while Deepak Singh Manhas, Manjeet Singh and Akash Choudhary claimed one wicket each.
