World Health Day observed with zeal

JAMMU, Apr 7: Various institutions observed World Health Day with zeal and zest by holding different activities, here today.
On the occasion of World Health Day, campaign of ‘Food Safety’ was organised at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhowani, Nowshera by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Jhangar under the aegis of Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Force Headquarter in presence Army and civil dignitaries.
A total of 316 students from various schools of Jhangar, Saryah, Kalsian and Bhowani participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Entertaining events like Painting, Speech and Quiz Competition were organised, wherein maximum students of different Schools participated.
NSS wing of M.C Khalsa College of Education observed “World Health Day” with pomp and show today.
A detailed presentation was given by Dr. Madhu Singh, Principal regarding “Food Safety” the theme of the year to be observed for the “Food from Farm to Plate”.
Multicolored posters, banners, charts, slogans, leaflets were exhibited by the students on these themes which were keenly observed by entire population of the college and school in order to create awareness among all categories of people.
The programme laid special emphasis on action we can all take to protect ourselves from the serious diseases caused by contaminated water, pesticides and other food-borne diseases. Students also presented their views on these issues.
Students of RM Public School celebrated “World Health Day” with enthusiasm in the School premises. Students presented a skit on this occasion to give a clear concept of why world health day is celebrated and explained some useful tips about how we can keep ourselves healthy.
Principal of the School, Ravinder Kour and Vice-Principal, Shashi Jamwal appreciated the participants and encouraged them to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment in the School as well as outside the School.
Elite Public School observed World Health Day with zeal and zest today.
The celebrations commenced with special morning assembly in which the School choir threw light on the importance of good health and as to how corrective measures can be taken to protect people from diseases.
School Choir was represented by Jai Krishan Tufchi, Science teacher. Shivani Sharma, Akansha Sharma and Omika Gupta were adjudged best speakers from class 10th on the occasion.
