JAMMU, Apr 12: Describing education as a bridge between different dimensions of sustainable development, Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi today said that education plays transformative role in ensuring equitable development, increase in social inclusion and improving governance at grassroots.
The Minister was speaking at the Annual Day function organized in ACM Public School, Janipur today.
Underlining the contribution of youth in eradicating menace of corruption from the society, the Minister said that youth are instrumental sources of change and play a vital role in bringing about positive change in the society. She stressed upon the youth to come forward to accomplish their responsibility towards the society.
Describing education as a fundamental building block for a free, fair and progressive society, she laid emphasis on quality learning and skill development.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students which were highly appreciated by the audience.
The Minister distributed prizes among the students who excelled in academics.
Later, the Minister addressed a couple of public meetings held at Jain Sabha and Brahman Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya highlighted the initiatives taken by the Government for women emancipation, and said that these initiatives will go a long way in helping the beneficiaries to supplement their livelihood.
The Minister was also felicitated during a function organised at Dewan Mandir here. Sr BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi was also present on the occasion.
