JAMMU, Apr 15:  The displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir held strong protest rally here today.
A large number of DPs under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir PoJK DPs Front 1947, 1965, 1971 led by  Rachhpal Singh Chib  assembled at Press Club and held protest demonstration in support of their demands. They were raising slogans against the Provincial Rehabilitation Officer, State and the Central Governments. They were also demanding implementation of relief package as sent by previous State Government to the Centre.
Mr Chib while speaking on the occasion alleged that displaced persons from PoJK have been deprived of the one time package and political reservation besides quota for their wards. The KPs are being provided cash relief and their wards were being provided quota in jobs and professional colleges but the wards of  PoJK DPs have been ignored.
He alleged that previous respective Governments  befooled them and did not settle their issues and only used them for their vote bank. The KPs are even being provided political reservation but this community has totally been ignored.  Several  other refugee leaders also addressed the gathering and criticized the Government for playing politics over the settlement of DPs.
They appealed all the refugee/ DPs bodies to get united for their common cause and launch vigorous movement for one time settlement. After holding protest for about two hours they dispersed.
